Harsh Dubey

Sunrisers Hyderabad
All Rounder
Left Handed & Slow left-arm orthodox 23 yrs.

Harsh Dubey is a prolific left-arm orthodox spinner and a gritty lower-order batter who has emerged as a cornerstone of the Vidarbha cricket team. Born on July 23, 2002, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Harsh is a modern-day utility player who excels in the art of traditional finger spin while possessing the temperament of a specialist batter. His cricketing journey began in the local lanes of Nagpur, where his natural ability to extract turn and bounce from the surface quickly caught the attention of local coaches, leading him into the structured pathways of the Vidarbha Cricket Association.

His domestic rise has been nothing short of spectacular, characterized by a steady climb through the age-group levels. Harsh first made headlines at the Under-19 level, where he was a standout performer for Vidarbha in the Cooch Behar Trophy, frequently picking up five-wicket hauls and scoring vital half-centuries. He made his senior professional debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in November 2021, followed by his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy later that year. However, it was his First-Class debut in the Ranji Trophy in 2022 that truly established him as a red-ball force.

Harsh Dubey saw a major breakthrough in his career during the Ranji Trophy 2024/25, where he delivered a record-breaking all-round season with 69 wickets and 476 runs, playing a pivotal role in Vidarbha lifting the title. His exceptional performances also earned him the Player of the Tournament award, firmly establishing him as one of the standout performers of the season.

While an international cap for the senior Indian team remains his ultimate goal, Harsh has already made significant strides in that direction. His consistent performances in the domestic arena earned him a call-up to the India A squad for the high-profile series against Australia A in late 2024. He also represented the Rest of India in the prestigious Irani Cup, showcasing his skills against the best players in the country. This impressive run led to an IPL opportunity, as he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad as an injury replacement, going on to make his debut in the 2025 season. The following year, he led Vidharba to their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy, and was also retained by SRH in the IPL.

Harsh Dubey represents the quintessential cricketer’s cricketer. A player who thrives on hard work, discipline, and a deep understanding of the game’s nuances. Whether he is deceiving a batsman with a subtle change in flight or digging in with the bat during a collapse, his competitive spirit is always on full display. With his calm demeanor and an ever-evolving skill set, Harsh is undoubtedly a rising star in the Indian firmament, possessing all the ingredients to become a long-term match-winner for both his state and, eventually, his country.
